Colégio O Brinquinho is an independent educational institution for children from 3 months to 10 years, authorised by the Ministry of Education and by Social Security. It sits 3.5 km from Caldas da Rainha, in a natural setting, in direct contact with the animals of our educational farm.

Nursery
3 – 6 years
Kindergarten
Two classrooms by age group, each with its own teaching project and a wide range of activities inside and outside the classroom.
2 classrooms
6 – 10 years
Primary School
Years 1 to 4, with small classes, interactive whiteboards, supervised study and English included in the monthly fee.

Educational Farm
Learning happens outside the classroom too.
The Educational Farm is shared by all three stages and is organised into three areas: the garden, the vegetable plot and the animals. The children learn to tend the flowers, to sow and to plant; they prepare the soil, grow and harvest vegetables that go into the school meals; and they are in direct contact with the animals, seeing to their cleaning, their feeding and their care.

Do you know how I know Mariana likes school? On Friday, at bedtime, she says: “Mum, I'm going to sleep because I've got school tomorrow!”, and I reply: “There's no school tomorrow, love. We are a Belgian family who stayed for 3 years in Foz do Arelho. Our kids went to Colégio O Brinquinho for 3 years. They were well accepted in the school and the teachers were very nice and helpful, taking their time to teach them the Portuguese language. The kids loved going to school and enjoyed the classes and extra activities. Highly recommended.
I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. Top staff, top teaching, top parent–school relationship. I cry just thinking that my daughter can only stay until Year 4, but I know she has been somewhere fantastic that will open many doors for her whole life. Congratulations!
